Elephant Itinerary

By choosing the Elephant itinerary, one of our most popular safari offerings, you will immerse yourself in the unspoiled wilderness of the real Africa, to meet many different animals up close and be amazed at the many magical views offered by Tanzania’s parks and vistas. Accompanying you will be one of our Tour Operators, who will escort you through the most beautiful parks in northern Tanzania in a comfortable Jeep, providing you with power outlets, a cooler with cold drinks and snacks, and binoculars. Included in our itineraries, along with a local Italian-speaking guide and the use of the Jeep, is full board and selected accommodations!

Are you ready to set off?

Day 1
Airport arrival and transfer to ArushaOn your arrival at Kilimanjaro (or Arusha) airport, you will be met by our guide to take you to your lodge in Arusha. If you have time, inclination and energy, you can take a tour of the city, accompanied by your guide. Alternatively, relax at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the Gold Crest Hotel (or similar category).

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro (or Arusha) airport, you will be met by our guide to take you to your lodge in Arusha.

Should you have the time, energy and desire, you can take a tour of the city in the company of a guide. Alternatively, you can unwind at the hotel.

Dinner and overnight stay at the Gold Crest Hotel (or similar category).

Day 2
Visit to Lake Manyara Park

After breakfast, the safari continues with a tour of Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania’s parks with the highest biodiversity.

Covering an area of only 330 square kilometres, 230 of which are occupied by the lake, it is possible to encounter five different ecosystems here.

The park is inhabited by over 380 bird species and a large number of animal species including elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, leopards, lions, baboons, hippos, antelopes, warthogs and many others.

We will set off for the park early in the morning and return to the lodge by 18:00. 18:00.

Packed lunch will be served at the park.

We weill move over to Karatu in the afternoon.

Day 3
Visit to the Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, we will visit the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, one of the most famous safari destinations in the world, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1978 and an International Biosphere Reserve in 1981.

Ngorongoro Crater is located at 2,200 meters above sea level and is the largest uninterrupted caldera in the world, and one of Africa’s natural wonders with the presence of about 30,000 large mammals living in it all year round, such as buffaloes, lions, elephants, cheetahs and rhinoceroses. It is also home to a wide variety of birds, such as flamingos, eagles, buzzards, ostriches and hawks.

The crater’s center is occupied by the shallow waters of Lake Magadi, which tends to dry up during the dry season, and is the best place from which to observe flocks of flamingos and crowned cranes, as well as several herbivores, especially the large number of wildebeests and zebras who drink here, attracting lions and hyenas.

We leave for the park early in the morning and return to the camp at about 18:00. 18:30.

The safari continues after lunch along the road from the NCA to the Serengeti.

Day 4
The enchanting Serengeti Park

We will visit the Serengeti National Park after breakfast, the extraordinary place where legend meets reality. It is the oldest and largest park in Tanzania, covering an area of 14,763 square kilometres, so much so that its name of Masai origin – Siringet, means “Plain without borders”.

Boundless plains await you, along with the great migration of herbivores, especially wildebeests and zebras, prides of lions, and other predators such as hyenas, cheetahs, leopards, jackals, crocodiles…

We will set off for the park early in the morning and return to the lodge by 18:00. 18:00.

Packed lunch will be served at the park.

Dinner and overnight accommodation at tented camp in Seronera.

Serengeti Park
Day 5
DAY 5

We continue our discovery of the magnificent Serengeti National Park after breakfast.

The boundless prairies are occasionally interrupted by unusual granite formations – kopjes, in whose cracks small pools of rainwater often form, attracting many small animals, as well as large predators such as lions who like to lay or hide in them, waiting for a possible prey to pass through.

You can see crocodiles, hippos and many other water animals along the rivers, including leopards that often bask in the branches of the umbrella acacias present here.

We will set off for the park early in the morning and return to the lodge by 18:00. 18:00.

Packed lunch will be served at the park.

After lunch, the photo Safari continues along the road from Serengeti to the NCA, forging on with a transfer to Karatu.

Day 6
Visit to Tarangire Park

We head to the Tarangire National Park for a fascinating game drive after breakfast.

Here, the swaying sylvan savannah, dotted with majestic baobabs, many of which are over 2,000 years old, is home to the largest elephant population in northern Tanzania.

And watching the animals after the dust blows over the dry plains is absolutely amazing.

The park is home to the highest density of wildlife on the continent during the peak of the dry season.

We will set off for the park early in the morning and return to the lodge by 18:00. 18:00.

Packed lunch will be served at the park.

In the afternoon, return to Arusha

Excursion to Arusha and transfer to the airportEven the last day of the safari will be organized as best as possible, allowing you before you leave to have breakfast and, if possible, a tour of the Arusha market to devote one last time to shopping and souvenirs for friends and family. Then, we will drive you back to the airport, to return to Italy with your heart filled with an unforgettable experience

How much does a safari in Tanzania cost?

The price of a Tanzania safari can vary depending on the itinerary you choose. The costs of our Tanzania tours include many services. The only expense not included is that of air travel. The cost of a trip to Tanzania can range from 700 to 3000 euros depending on the days and the type of tour you want to take.

When to go to Tanzania?

What is the best time of year for a trip to Tanzania? Tanzania has a tropical climate. In the highlands, temperatures vary between 10 and 20°C during the cold and hot seasons, respectively. The hottest period is from November to February (25-31°C), while the coldest period occurs between May and August (15-20°C).

What to pack?

For a safari in Tanzania, it is advisable to carry both lighter clothes and a half-weight to be able to better cope with the large temperature range between day and night. You should also carry a backpack, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, binoculars, a hat and toiletries.

What are the vaccinations for Tanzania?

No mandatory vaccinations are required unless you are coming from a yellow fever transmission risk country or transiting through one before reaching Tanzania. If you are transiting or coming from countries where yellow fever is at risk of transmission then you will have to have the preventive yellow fever vaccine.

Do you need a visa for Tanzania?

Two documents are needed for a safari in Tanzania: a passport, which must have a residual validity of at least six months when entering the country, an entry visa for tourist travel, which costs 42.40 euros and is applied for before departure at the Tanzanian Embassy in Rome or the Honorary Consulate in Milan. Airports in Tanzania: which one to choose?

Tanzania's main airport is Julius Nyerere International Airport DAR in Dar Es Salaam near the center and ideal for visiting the parks of southern Tanzania. Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) is the most important for international traffic and ideal for visiting the parks of northern Tanzania. Zanzibar Abeid Amani Karume, on the other hand, is only 5 km south of Zanzibar.

Tanzania currency: what is the exchange rate with the euro?

Tanzania's currency is the Tanzanian shilling. The local currency currently sees an exchange rate of 0.00035 euro for 1 shilling. It is advisable to always see the current exchange rate value before leaving.
