Day 3
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Gorilla trekking and transfer to Kisoro

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park has extraordinary biodiversity, with the presence of important populations of endangered species, particularly Mountain Gorillas (about half of the world’s population of this species resides here), and was therefore declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.

Its territory, occupied mostly by tropical forest and jungle, is largely accessible only on foot.

After a sunrise breakfast and a short briefing with the rangers, in groups of up to 8 people we will begin a fairly challenging trek into the forest in search of mountain gorillas. The trek always varies depending on the positioning of the gorilla families, but as a rule, from the first sighting, you will be with these amazing animals for an hour. Meeting the gorillas up close and observing them in their natural habitat is an indescribable and unforgettable thrill and totally repays the efforts made to reach them (at least two liters of water, hiking shoes and a k-way must be carried during the trek).

Around 1 p.m. we will return from the trek. Packed lunch.

Next, transfer to the small town of Kisoro, located near the park that we will visit the following day.

Dinner and overnight stay at Mucha Hotel in Kisoro (or similar category).

Scimpanzè-gola-diKyambura
Day 4
Mgahinga National Park and golden monkey trekking

After breakfast at dawn, we transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

This park is located in the southwestern part of Uganda, bordering Volcanoes National Park (Rwanda) and Virunga Park (DRC). It features breathtaking views of the peaks of Volcanoes National Park. The park area includes three of the eight Volcanoes in the Virunga range: the Muhavura, Sabinyo and Gahinga, from which the park takes its name.

We will make a nice 3 to 4-hour trek at an elevation of about 2,500 meters to discover the golden guenons.

These beautiful, brightly colored primates are little known and endemic to the area, living in bamboo trees and considered endangered.

Two gorilla families are also present in this park and can be observed.

After the trek, pack lunch and return to Kisoro.

Dinner and overnight stay at Mucha Hotel in Kisoro (or similar category).
