Day 8
Lake Eyasi and its tribes

On the eighth day of this beautiful 10-day itinerary in Tanzania, we will visit Lake Eyasi, located south-east of the Ngorongoro highlands. The surrounding region is home to a very interesting group of people: the Hadzabe-bushmen, last heirs of a civilization that knows nothing about agriculture, cattle breeding, ceramics and metallurgy.

The Hadzabe thus live by hunting, which they practice with bow and arrow, and by gathering berries and wild fruits. They are the last heirs of the homines sapientes who, right here in the Rift Valley, took their first steps about 200,000 years ago. Through all these years, their lifestyle and traditions have remained unchanged, and the tribes organize themselves into small nomadic groups of about 20 members. On a safari, meeting a tribe like theirs is a truly intense and interesting experience that you will carry in your heart.

Safari Adventure will arrange a meeting with the tribe, during which you can experience a hunting trip and their archaic way of life, a unique and true experience, not fake or staged for tourist purposes.

In this vast region you can also find another people, the Datoga, polygamous herders originally from the Horn of Africa, who came to this region following their herds in search of pasture. We will also organize a small tour with them, during which you will get to visit a Datoga village, the blacksmith’s workshop, where this tribe prepares arrowheads for the Hadzabe. An exciting and rich experience.

We will leave for the park early in the morning and return to the lodge by 18:00.
Packed lunch will be served at the park.
We return to Arusha in the evening.
Dinner and overnight accommodation at the lodge.

Visita Lago Eyasi
Day 9
Visit to Kilimanjaro Park

The ninth day will be devoted to visiting one of the best-known and best-loved points of interest in all of Africa, namely Kilimanjaro National Park, which owes its fame precisely to Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa as well as one of the highest volcanoes in the world, with its summit covered by a perennial glacier.

To access the park there are several entrances. The main one, from which we will enter during the safari, is the Marangu Gate, located at an impressive 1870 meters above sea level. Here we will arrive by jeep and you will have a chance to lose your eyes among the breathtaking views that stand out before you. From here, in fact, you will be able to see all the beauty of the Great Rift Valley, where Mount Meru stands out.

From here on, we’ll embark on an adventurous trek that will take us to the foothills of the mountain. Here lies a rainforest with incredibly lush vegetation, where towering trees stand out. Thanks to its climate and characteristics, the forest is home to a multitude of animals, such as leopards, buffalo, various antelopes, baboons, and guenons. If you look closely, you may also spot the Abbot’s starling and numerous other bird species that are very rare outside this forest.

After we finish exploring, we will move on to Lake Chala, whose turquoise and emerald green hues make it one of the most striking places in the area.

We leave for the park early in the morning and return to the lodge by 18:00.
Packed lunch will be served at the park.
Dinner and overnight accommodation at the lodge.
