Here, the swaying sylvan savannah, dotted with majestic baobabs, many of which are over 2,000 years old, is home to the largest elephant population in northern Tanzania. And the observation of the animals is absolutely amazing when the dust blows over the dry plains. The park is home to the highest density of wildlife on the continent in the height of the dry season.
The best time to visit this park is certainly in the dry season, during which it is filled with wildlife from all over the continent.

On the fifth day, after a hearty breakfast at the lodge, we will head for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This is one of the world’s most famous safari spots, a destination that all nature and animal lovers dream of visiting. The Ngorongoro Crater, (the permit for game drives inside the Crater is valid for a maximum of 6 hours) the area of greatest interest and is one of the natural wonders of Africa.
In fact, the Crater is home to about 30,000 mammals belonging to a wide variety of species, including: cheetahs, lions, rhinos, buffaloes and elephants. Besides these you will also be able to see many varieties of birds, such as flamingos, eagles, buzzards, ostriches and hawks. During the visit we will move to the center of the crater, occupied by Lake Magadi. The lake is the best spot to observe flocks of flamingos and crowned cranes, but also many herbivores, such as zebras and wildebeests that drink in the lake’s waters, often attracting the presence of lions and hyenas.
We leave for the park early in the morning and then move to the Serengeti in the afternoon.

After breakfast, the sixth day will be devoted to visiting Serengeti Park, where we will stay for almost two days in order to savor all its wonders. This extraordinary place is the oldest park in Tanzania, as well as the one covering the largest area, with an impressive 14,763 km2.
In the “Borderless Plains,” boundless plains, the great migration of herbivores, especially wildebeest and zebra, herds of lions and many other majestic predators that you will see on safari, such as hyenas, jackals, crocodiles, cheetahs and leopards, await you.

Along the rivers are many trails where you can see crocodiles, hippos and many other animals that come to drink, including leopards that often bask in the branches of the umbrella acacias present here.

We then move to Karatu in the evening.
Dinner and overnight accommodation at the Lodge.

On the eighth day of this beautiful 10-day itinerary in Tanzania, we will visit Lake Eyasi, located south-east of the Ngorongoro highlands. The surrounding region is home to a very interesting group of people: the Hadzabe-bushmen, last heirs of a civilization that knows nothing about agriculture, cattle breeding, ceramics and metallurgy.
The Hadzabe thus live by hunting, which they practice with bow and arrow, and by gathering berries and wild fruits. They are the last heirs of the homines sapientes who, right here in the Rift Valley, took their first steps about 200,000 years ago. Through all these years, their lifestyle and traditions have remained unchanged, and the tribes organize themselves into small nomadic groups of about 20 members. On a safari, meeting a tribe like theirs is a truly intense and interesting experience that you will carry in your heart.
Safari Adventure will arrange a meeting with the tribe, during which you can experience a hunting trip and their archaic way of life, a unique and true experience, not fake or staged for tourist purposes.
In this vast region you can also find another people, the Datoga, polygamous herders originally from the Horn of Africa, who came to this region following their herds in search of pasture. We will also organize a small tour with them, during which you will get to visit a Datoga village, the blacksmith’s workshop, where this tribe prepares arrowheads for the Hadzabe. An exciting and rich experience.
We will leave for the park early in the morning and return to the lodge by 18:00.
Packed lunch will be served at the park.
We return to Arusha in the evening.
Dinner and overnight accommodation at the lodge.

The ninth day will be devoted to visiting one of the best-known and best-loved points of interest in all of Africa, namely Kilimanjaro National Park, which owes its fame precisely to Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa as well as one of the highest volcanoes in the world, with its summit covered by a perennial glacier.
To access the park there are several entrances. The main one, from which we will enter during the safari, is the Marangu Gate, located at an impressive 1870 meters above sea level. Here we will arrive by jeep and you will have a chance to lose your eyes among the breathtaking views that stand out before you. From here, in fact, you will be able to see all the beauty of the Great Rift Valley, where Mount Meru stands out.
From here on, we’ll embark on an adventurous trek that will take us to the foothills of the mountain. Here lies a rainforest with incredibly lush vegetation, where towering trees stand out. Thanks to its climate and characteristics, the forest is home to a multitude of animals, such as leopards, buffalo, various antelopes, baboons, and guenons. If you look closely, you may also spot the Abbot’s starling and numerous other bird species that are very rare outside this forest.
After we finish exploring, we will move on to Lake Chala, whose turquoise and emerald green hues make it one of the most striking places in the area.
We leave for the park early in the morning and return to the lodge by 18:00.
Packed lunch will be served at the park.
Dinner and overnight accommodation at the lodge.

The tenth and final day will also be well organized, allowing you to say goodbye to Arusha and take a tour of its quaint market, where you can enjoy shopping. After your last trip to Arusha you will be taken to the airport to return to Italy, confident that you will take with you an unforgettable experience and many good memories.
